Doughnut Vault

Ohhh could this possibly be one of Chicago's best kept secrets?  Well I am about to expose them!  You like doughnuts?  I mean, who doesn't?  I heard about this place called The Doughnut Vault and thought it would be perfect to highlight here. I love something that is shrouded in mystery!  It's kinda tricky to find, there is always a line and they close when they sell out.  You gotta act fast and know what you want...there is no patience for procrastination here!  Get it and get out...people are waiting!  And God forbid you are the last one to get the last doughnut...when there are 50 people waiting in line behind you.  So yeah...kinda makes you want to see what the hype is all about!

Here are my photos (all taken with my phone!!!) It was a last minute adventure and I did not have my camera with me.  But maybe that was for the best...

Check it out!

Better hurry...that line is growing by the second!

OK...now that you are drooling...you must come here sometime before you die.  Yeah...it's kinda a bucket list place!

Shhhhh...you can find The Doughnut Vault at 401 1/2 N. Franklin Street.  They open at 8:30 M-F and close when they sell out.  Open from 9:30 on Saturday.  Closed Sunday. Cash only!!!

I am so excited to share this weeks "fresh find" with you!

Please meet Paper Doll!

Oh how I love this store!  It has the best little goodies...from candles, to necklaces, to custom invitations, cards, books, and all sorts of things you didn't know you needed until you saw them!  Stacy, Kelly and Maud (the pug sidekick) make a great team!  I love coming here...it's so fun and whimsical.  This is a perfect little store to pop into when you need to buy a cute little gift for someone (from babies to grannys!)

Sweet Cakes!

Mmmm hmmm...this is a find!  Sweet Cakes Bakery is a little gem nestled on the corner of Damen Avenue and Iowa in the Ukrainian Village. I love the vibe here...clean, open and welcoming.  Oh yeah...the frosting on the cupcakes is out of this world!!!  Very light and buttery.  YUM!  But I think my favorite thing is the raspberry cornmeal scone...so flipping good!

I can't wait to get a group of girlfriends together and check out their afternoon tea on Tuesday's.

Be sure to check of Sweet Cakes if you live in the area (or visit Chicago!)

You can find the bakery at:
901 North Damen Avenue

Milk and Honey

This cute as can be place, Milk and Honey Cafe, has been around for years!  I love the delicious and unique items that they offer and in the summer, I love to sit outside and people watch.  But really...it's the atmosphere that keeps me coming back for more.  I love the light here and the eclectic yet simple decor.  Oh yeah...the homemade donuts are pretty flipping amazing!
